Privacy policy

Thank you for visiting our website and for your interest in our company. The protection of your data is of the utmost importance to us. With the following information on data protection, we would like to inform you about the purposes for which and the extent to which we collect and process your personal data when you use our websites and how we protect your privacy when you provide us with your data.

Responsibility

Maiko Engineering GmbH (Adam-Opel-Straße 12, 38112 Braunschweig, phone: +49 531 31019-0, fax: +49 531 31019-20, e-mail: maiko@maiko.de) is the operator of this website and, as the controller within the meaning of Art. 4 (7) GDPR, is responsible for compliance with the applicable data protection regulations.

The personal data of our users are stored and processed by us in compliance with the relevant regulations, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the Act on Data Protection and Privacy in Telecommunications and Digital Services (TDDDG) in their current versions. All personal data is only collected for specified, clear and legitimate purposes and is not stored for longer than necessary.

Personal data

Personal data is individual information about the personal or factual circumstances of an identified or identifiable natural person (e.g. name, date of birth and contact details).

Websites

As soon as you visit our websites, our web servers temporarily store each access in a log file. The following data may be recorded and stored until automated deletion: IP address, date and time of access, transferred data volumes, messages about the success of accessing the web pages, identification data of the browser and operating system used, the website from which access is made and the IP address of your Internet access provider. This data is processed for the purpose of enabling the use of the websites, system security, technical administration of the network infrastructure and optimization of the Internet offering. This is to be regarded as a legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR.

Other data collection

We collect, store and process your personal data (e.g. first name, surname, address, e-mail address, telephone number) if a business relationship exists or is to be established, e.g. as part of a subscription or an order, as well as when the content of and changes to the business relationship are made. We also use your personal data if you have provided it to us for registration on our website and have consented to the processing of your personal data. We also collect, store and process your personal data if you contact us via the contact form by sending an e-mail or by telephone or fax, insofar as this is necessary for processing your inquiries and correspondence. The personal data collected by us will be deleted immediately as soon as it is no longer required for this purpose, unless there are statutory retention periods.

Contact form

If you use our contact form to send us an inquiry, we will store the information you provide and the contact details you provide to process the inquiry and for any follow-up questions. The data will not be passed on without your consent.

The legal basis for the data processing of the data provided in the contact form is your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR), which you have given by ticking the box in the contact form. You can revoke this consent at any time without giving reasons to the above address or electronically (e.g. by e-mail). The legality of the data processing carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

The data provided in the contact form will be stored by us until you request its deletion, until receipt of your revocation or after the purpose of data storage no longer applies (e.g. after processing of the inquiry has been completed). This does not affect the statutory provisions, in particular the retention periods.

Passing on the data

We use your personal data within Maiko Engineering GmbH and our affiliated companies. These companies and our external service providers who carry out data processing on our behalf are contractually obliged within the meaning of Art. 28 GDPR to treat personal data in accordance with the applicable regulations. Insofar as these companies come into contact with your personal data, we have taken legal, technical and organizational measures and carried out regular checks to ensure that they comply with the provisions of data protection laws.

If you find links from other controllers on our website (e.g. to our affiliated companies) and click on the link, you are using the website of the respective controller directly, so that our data protection provisions do not apply to this website.

In principle, we do not transfer your personal data to a third country or to an international organization outside the European Economic Area (EEA). If we do transfer data in individual cases, this will only take place to third countries for which an adequacy decision has been issued by the European Commission or for which the appropriate level of data protection has been ensured by suitable or appropriate guarantees (e.g. Binding Corporate Rules or EU standard contractual clauses).

We reserve the right to transfer your personal data to authorities entitled to receive information if we are obliged to do so by law or by court order.

Your personal data will not be passed on to other third parties.

Cookies

On our websites, various information is stored in so-called cookies, which serve to make the application more user-friendly and the Internet offer more effective overall. In addition, the data stored in a cookie makes it unnecessary to repeatedly fill out forms. The cookies we use are time-limited and are deleted regularly.

You can independently manage the acceptance of cookies from our websites in your browser and block them if necessary. You can also delete cookies that have already been set at any time. You can also find out about the option of deactivating cookies in the settings of your browser. If you do not accept cookies, this may lead to restrictions in the use of our websites in individual cases. Please note that if you delete your cookies, you may also have to reactivate any opt-out cookies that have been set.

We recommend that you delete your cookies and browser history manually on a regular basis.

We differentiate between technically necessary cookies and statistical and marketing cookies. Technically necessary cookies are those that make it technically possible to use the website. Cookies that are not technically necessary are all cookies that are used for marketing and statistical purposes. Maiko Engineering GmbH applies YouTube for this purpose.

Analysis of the websites

Social plug-ins

Our websites use the social plug-ins of various social network providers. As soon as you access one of our websites that contains such a plug-in, the content of the plug-in is transmitted directly to your browser. By using social plug-ins, we offer you the opportunity to interact directly with our posts via the comment function.

By clicking on the respective social media plug-in, you will be forwarded directly to our website on the corresponding social network and your data will be transmitted to the servers of the respective provider of the social network. This data includes IP address, date and time of access, identification data of the browser and operating system used, the website from which access is made.

We would like to point out that we have no influence on the scope of data processing by the social network provider in question. The purpose, type and scope of data collection as well as the further processing and use of the data can therefore be found in the privacy policy of the respective provider.

Please note that the servers of the social network providers may be located to a large extent in countries outside the European Union. Companies that process data in countries outside the European Union are subject to data protection laws that regularly do not guarantee the protection of personal data to the same extent as is the case under the data protection laws of the European Union.

The following social plug-ins are offered on our websites:

YouTube

If you have given your consent in the cookie notice, YouTube is used on our website. The legal basis for the use of YouTube and the associated data processing is therefore your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR and § 25 para. 1 TDDDG.

The YouTube plug-ins on our websites are operated by YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066 USA. The YouTube plug-ins are identified by the YouTube logo. Different data protection regulations apply in the USA, so that, for example, the US authorities have more access rights to personal data. As soon as you use such a plug-in, your browser establishes direct contact with YouTube so that your information is transmitted directly to a YouTube server. If you are logged in to YouTube at the same time as visiting our website, YouTube can directly link your visit to your account. When you send a comment or press the “YouTube button”, this information is also transmitted to a YouTube server and stored by it in the USA. In addition, your YouTube interactions are published directly on YouTube and may therefore be visible to third parties. If you do not want such interaction, it is your responsibility to log out of YouTube before visiting our website and also to prevent the YouTube plug-ins from loading on our site by using a “script blocker”. Furthermore, you can refuse consent to data processing within the cookie layer or subsequently revoke it

For the purpose and scope of data collection and the further processing and use of the data, please refer to YouTube’s data policy: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/.
